Week 42 - ATP 250 - bett1HULKS Championship, Cologne, Germany (indoor hard)

L32:  Yoshihito Nishioka (JPN) WR 55 (CH = 48 in February) vs Kyle Edmund WR 47 (CH = 14 in October 2018)

Struff (7) or Marco Cecchinato (SE) will play the winner of that one.  Nishioka lost that marathon five-setter to Andy in the first round of the USO.

L32:  (SE) Danilo Petrovic (SRB) WR 166 (CH = 155 in February) vs (WC) Andy Murray WR 115 (CH = 1 in November 2016)

The pocket Argentine (2) lies in wait for the winner of that one.

Really disappointing for Andy, got to look after his body.

I wonder how many times more he can do this though, it must get dispiriting

Completely missed/forgot about this! Disastrous score, hard to put any gloss on that and anyone who does is pulling the wool over their own eyes!

Maybe he needs to do what Stan Wawrinka did, get some match practice on a couple of Challenger level events.

Kyle needs to get as fully fit as possible and stay fit.

Out of competition, I assume that he is still based in the Bahamas, and he himself has referred to an issue of it meaning a lack of quality practice partners.

There may be quite a lot for him to consider during the close season as to how to get back on track.

I wonder if financially it still benefits him to live there given he isn't earning much in the way of prize money. Obviously got the endorsements but keep losing and those will dry up too.

I would like to think that winning tennis matches and titles anyway is a much bigger priority than further improving his finances.

So his choices should have that as the focus.
