ATP Challenger Marbella - Jay in qualies

No, he's not, but he could be in the main draw, as the q1 is Alexandre Muller (WR 225) & Jay's WR 189...

On the tournament website, that's 5 players above Muller missing (MD/withdrawn) from the original list.

Muller's now been moved into the main draw, but there's no sign of Jay there.

No sign yet of Katie Swan? She seems to have been in Spain the past few weeks, an academy perhaps?

Surprised none of the women have given Heraklion a try.

THere's lots of BYEs in the first round of qualis, and Greece is pretty low in terms of covid infections, and easy to get to.

Just to mention also that this week sees the UTR Progress Tour event in Spain at Soto.

1000 euros for the winner.

63 players, 20 different nationalities.....

There aren't many names there that I recognise, but players such as Jonny Binding and Dan Bennett stand out, as well as a couple of youngsters such as Charlie Penman

Naomi has made it into Tyler W80 quals this week, but she's got a tough Q1 match against the much improved Renata Zarazua who has had an excellent year, and is the top seed here. Still, she is still currently well down the alt list, so she could look at it as an unexpected bonus.

Main draw looks like a weak W25 - any of our top 20 players would have got in easily.
