Aren't the first Brits in action today ?  Some might see it as an advantage to know the results of R1 matches prior to making their vote.

Obviously it would be, but with no doubles draw ...

Also, it's just a game I guess?!

But my entire tennis predicting reputation is riding on this wink

Yeah, sorry, Jon, I'm with Bob and the 'game, what game???' people on this biggrin

If Andy and Jo and Dan have all lost today, it's not quite the same prediction game tomorrow as it was this morning.

I mean, we've only got five in the singles - and three playing today. You can't have people voting tomorrow.

Sorry but..... #grumpymood #Brexit;covid-19;Japanese immigration;Trump - all pee-ing me off ! no

Ok, last votes by start of play then. I'm nothing if not malleable!

Thanks Jon.  We all really appreciate these competitions and they provoke a lot of interest and discussion.  I know not so many have voted this time, hence why you probably wanted to leave it open to get more people involved, but rest assured, those of us that have voted are very grateful for all your efforts.  It must be very time consuming and given your "issues" at the moment with regard to your daughter and Uni, it must be even more difficult to find the time.

That's appreciated Bob,  thank you. But I actually enjoy them, it's a little mental break for me and all through my life I've created my own fantasy events, so it is something that's part of my leisure activities anyway!

I just remembered this whilst watching Dan and technically my vote is too late according to the discussion above. For what it's worth I voted 9. Based on the stats in Jon's earlier post I think 6 is more realistic but at the US Open I found it depressing winning a prediction competition when the results were poor so I have decided to join the optimists.

Dont worry SuperT, no real hard or fast rule. No match has finished involving Brits so reckon we can include you...please vote if you havent done so!

Thanks Jon.  I had already voted but wanted to confess to the timing issue.

If votes could be in by end of Sunday. Assuming doubles draw before then? Anyone know when the doubles will be drawn?

I'll let you know then, in case any Brit's are scheduled for a Sunday start  biggrin

But this sudden change isn't fair on me as I was purposely delaying my pick in line with the clearly stated rules. Not happy at all.

Ha, just joking. I didn't vote, but I agree and think it would make most sense to close before the singles started.

In actual fact I cant close the voting as such ...I think indy can but recall it takes 24 hours to actually close. But hopefully if indy can see this, do the hard close and it will kick in by monday pm, that will be the best we can  do now.

Sorry for any confusion, I think the sunday start and no doubles draws took me by surprise, or at least where off my radar.

I have closed the voting but yes it should take 24 hours.

I was waiting for the doubles draws, now out, but left it too long. I had initially been ruminating about probably 7 or 8.

Dont like going blind with no doubles draw but I'm going to go 9. Mens singles 1, womens Jo to get 2, mens doubles 6 over the event.

It feels very foolhardy though as realistically I think it will be lower.

Having seen doubles draws, I'm reckoning 10 now. But around what I said.

Not been a good start but to be honest, I was expecting those three results. Dan did well to get so close.
