Other events - week 38

In Albania, J5:

Roy Keegan and Louie Fletcher both got R1 wins.

Nick Philibert lost, but it was to the 3rd seed, very close score (7-6(4), 7-5) and Nick is only a 2005-er so a good show.

In Germany, J4, Ranah Stoiber won her R1 match.

Luca Pow lost in R1.

Will Nolan, a wildcard, came through qualis and is now top seed and plays later.

Given Roach and Sofia Johnson (who came through qualis) are also yet to play.

Issy Purser also lost in R1 but took the top seed to three sets, so an unlucky draw.

Kylie Bilchev lost in R1 too.

Henry Searle won two q matches and lost in the FQR; Hugo Coquelin lost in his first match in qualis, as did Talia Neilson Gatenby

We also have players in the J5 in Spain which starts today.

A super result for young Roy in Albania, J5:

R2:

Roy Keegan (age 14) def. (2) Aman Sharma (USA) 1-6 7-6(10) 6-4
(4) Louie Fletcher def. Martin Muedini (ALB) 6-3 6-2

However, Roy is on the draw and in ITF as being from GBR, but on Coretennis and Tennis Ireland as being Irish. So, if anyone knows the lad, would be interested to know more (certainly a very Irish name....)

Louie+ are also in the SFs on the doubles

In Germany, J4, Will Nolan got a R1 win.

And great clutch R1 results from the girls:

Given Roach (born 2005) def. (2) Angelina Wirges (GER) 6-4 2-6 7-6(6)

Sofia Johnson (born 2004) def. Amelie Janssen (GER) 5-7 6-3 7-5

In Spain, J5, there were R1 losses for Dhillon Virdee Oakley and Max Graham, with Charlie Penman, Tommy Harrison, Iman Khan and Aryana Bartlett still to play.

Kristina Paskauskas is playing in Czech Rep. too. And Ali Habib is in Serbia.

In Germany, neither Given and Sofia could capitalise on their results from yesterday.

But young Ranah got a very simple win, 6-1 6-1, over the 8th seed.

And Will Nolan won in three too.

In Serbia, J5, Ali Habib lost in three sets in R1.

Kristina Paskauskas also lost in R1 in Czech Rep too.

In Spain, Tommy and Charlie both lost in three sets; Iman and Aryana lost far more easily.

It was by walkover but, whichever which way, Will Nolan and partner won the doubles title in Germany, J4
