Just been to look and see if these additional 16 points sneak Liam back into the top 200. But in fact he drops a place to 207 in the live rankings - although I will add the caveat that I don't fully trust those rankings at the moment with all the complications.

The top 200 issue is that the 28/09 live rankings don't include French Open qualifying and Liam has for now been overtaken by a guy  competing in the Sibou Challenger.

All French Open points will add on 12/10 by which time Liam will probably need further points for top 200, though I am sure that he will just be looking to qualify for that achievement in itself.

All the best, Liam

Thanks Indi.  I did wonder as the points allocation to the right of the screen (on the live rankings I use) didn't appear.

https://live-tennis.eu/en/atp-live-ranking

So I guess at the moment Liam is exactly 200.

Actually still no. I just remembered that Liam has a full set of counters. His current 18th counter is 3 points so his 16 French Open Q points just add a net 13 for him, taking him to 273 points and still outside the top 200.

I give up and bow to the master of the rankings.

Thanks.

Ace, I find it easier to search Amazon Prime on my laptop for matches on Eurosport catchup, and add them to my watchlist. Then they appear easily on the TV. Did that for Harriet yesterday since I missed the whole second set. I'll do that for Liam as well, once it is showing in the list - can only see his QR1 match at the moment.

Thanks TA, I'll try that for future reference in the tournament, but I don't think they've added any other women's matches. If I type in 'Buzarnescu' then her match with Harriet appears, but if I type in 'Kostyuk' or 'Niculescu' then it doesn't return anything relevant, so I think they mustn't have bothered uploading any other women's matches. There's a few men's matches in multiple parts, but not that many of those either.

CD obviously has the Euro version of Eurosport, but does anyone here based in the UK have the Eurosport Player directly (not via Amazon Prime)?

If they have on demand matches, and labelled courts then I might just get it directly. I mainly went for the Prime version so that it would be available on the TV, but I think I'll stick to the main channels (with the commentary) on the big screen when the main draw starts, so no real advantage.

I have a subscription to the Eurosport player and all 3 of the Brit qualifying matches are available on demand.  There are other offerings too but I haven't explored them.  Most years at some point there's an offer to get a 12 month subscription for £19.99 or £29.99 and I sign up then as it has always been a bargain.  Now that Amazon Prime has cleaned up all the tournaments I'm not sure if I'll bother again but in the past it has served me well.

I've got the Eurosport Player free trial for this week, via Amazon Prime, but I'm thinking of cancelling it before I get charged. It's only £6.99 a month, and I'm hardly spending anything these days, but it's been a bit disapointing so far. It can take ages to find the stream as they are not labeled (I ended up watching the Liam 2nd set TB on Bet365 as it would have been over before I'd found it, assuming it wasn't on Eurosport 1), plus unlike normal Prime for normal WTA/ATP matches, who upload matches as soon as they finish, I think Harriet's match is the only women's match from yesterday that is on demand - unless I'm missing something obvious.

It's a shame. Their coverage has gone backwards. I remember in the old days they showed all courts that were available when we were just used to the old fashioned one channel coverage and it felt amazing. They used to have full uploads of every match as well. They completely changed the layout of the Player about 5 years ago and it's been complete crap ever since. It took me 8 tries to find Liam's court today - ridiculous.

The Addict's trick has worked for me in the past though.

Amazon's coverage is perfect, I hope they get the remaining Slams as well.

Thanks ST. Yeah, I used to get that offer (first year without it), but once they lost the US Open to Amazon a couple of years ago, I kept it for the next year, but I rarely use it outside of the slams (Davis Cup finals and the odd WTA grass event), so thought I'd just get it for the two months that they covered the slams. I did actually miss the offer at the time as well.

Thanks Wolf. Do you have the Europort Player directly or via the Amazon Prime add on? I was speaking to the Tennis on Telly lad earlier and he pointed out that they do have loads of other matches, like Kostyuk etc. on demand, which is better than what I have (add on version), but I had hoped that the direct Player version would have had labelled courts, because that was really annoying via the Amazon Prime ES Player add on earlier when trying to find the matches I was interested in.

I fully agree with Amazon in terms of their US Open/WTA/ATP coverage. I'm more of a WTA man and was concerned when BT Sport lost the rights at the start of the year, but for my personal needs Amazon is absolutely amazing - matches uploaded almost instantly, works on numerous devices, really good app. I'm not sure if visibility is affected with it being off traditional TV, but for me, it is outstanding.

Yeah, I know it's just an add on, and they likely won't have much to do with it, but the service is like chalk and cheese compared to Amazon's perfectly labelled, on demand service they offer for their year round tour tennis coverage. I've just cancelled my add on renewal and have gone direct with the Player.

The way i watched the first set and completely forgot about this. Worms for brains. But so glad (and a little surprised-ooop) that he got the W. Be big for him if he can manage to qualify- fingers crossed!

Liam has a 3 - 0 record against Polmans. All hardcourt but all reasonably easy wins for Liam.

Fingers crossed

Steven would beg to differ.  He claims it is 3-1 to Liam

I'd missed the Stockton loss. Still remains that Liam can beat Polmans and has done before.

Are the FQR matches still best of 3 sets, or are they now best of 5 ?
