L16: Luke Bambridge & Ben McLachlan (JPN) CR 114 (53+61) vs Fabio Fognini & Robert Lindstedt (ITA/SWE) CR 210 (126+84)

Fognini has a CH 7 from 2015 and 43 yo Lindstedt a CH 3 from 2013.

Luke and Ben's QF could be going better but they have at least won the deuce point to hold at the start of set 2.

Deleted my premature post that had them losing the MTB by err 7-2 ( though I beat SC ). After that second set turnaround they initially went *0-5 down in the MTB.

 Very topsy turvy result - being honest, I wouldn't expect them to be beat Dodig and Polasek, on clay.

To digress to the singles ...

Uncertain times: the QFs contain 5 of the 6 qualifiers, 1 of the 8 seeds ( and 4 of them had a bye to the L16 ) and 2 others.

And (2) Schwartzman loses in the QF. The SF has 3 qualifiers and no seeds.
