Interesting philosophical choice this - elite player who had a hrra week and achieved a world class result; top doubles pair who did the same, if not better, but how does doubles stack v singles? A lesser known 3rd tier player who has played well above themselves and achieved career best results? Or an up and coming player who dominated a domestic circuit and topped their peers?
None right or wrong, depends on personal viewpoint I think!
I think the actual split is folks who went with the established star having a great week at the top level and the less well known player exceeding expectations. Jamie and Neal voters from round one largely also voted for Jo and most of those have supported Jo in the final. Emma supporters from round one largely are also Stuart supporters and took the Stuart route in the final.
Although I suspect that's a simplistic analysis. Either way, with 18 voted , it's a two horse race now.
My wife is dragging me and the family out for a drink in the early September sunshine, so I am going to miss the 6 pm deadline.
If Indy is around and once to call it "done" for me around 6pm , that would be great. Or , indeed, anyone who feels they can shoulder the responsibility, please feel free to call it at 6pm.
If for some reason, there is a tie at 6 pm (and I am sure there wont be), I had planned to extend it until 10...
Failing all above, I will be back around 7.30, 8 to take a look and make a call!
