Very unlikely that Naomi will be overtaken as GB #1 in doubles. With just two WTA tournaments left it would take at least two wins by Emily W-S or Heather to overtake her. Em may not get the chance, and Heather appears to have finished for the year.

In mens doubles I think Jamie Murray could conceivably overtake Joe Salisbury , but hed need to win Paris and then do well in London to do so.

In the current vernacular,  I'll call it after linz or perhaps before if EWS isnt playing there.

Nominations list to date over course of year is now as per below: Jamie and Neal lead the way with only 1 month to go (Nov and Dec to be combined) meaning they will be at least equal top at year end. So well done to them for a decent years set of performances / body of work

Nominations
J. Murray 4
N. Skupski 4
A. Hewett 3
B. Harris 3
D. Evans 3
E. Raducanu 3
H. Dart 3
J. Burrage 3

E. Appleton 2
F. Jones 2
G. Reid 2
J. Draper 2
J. Pinnington-Jones 2
K. Boulter 2
K. Edmund 2
L. Broady 2
S. Murray-Sharan 2
S. Parker 2
A. Barnett 1
A. Fery 1
A. Matusevich 1
A. Rajecki 1
B. Klein 1
D. Cox 1

H. Watson 1
J. Clarke 1
J. Hersey 1
J. Konta 1
J. Whiley 1
L. Glasspool 1

Liam joins the group on 3 nominations. There are a few on 3 currently that could get onto 4 if they get nominated in November/ december, namely Billy Harris , Emma Raducanu and Jodie Burrage and that would qualify them for the player of year vote.

Voting timetable:

Nov/Dec Player of Month Vote - evening Dec 13/14th semifinals, 14th to 15th final

Player of Season Wild card vote - 15th to 16th December

Player of the Season Votes - QF 17/18th ; SF 18th/19th; FINAL 19th/20th**

Player of Season will be crowned on Evening of Sunday 20th.

** If we have 16 or 18 participants in Player of Season votes (after wildcards), I envisage:

16 players - QF - 4 groups of 4; SF 2 groups of 4; Final - 1 group of 4
18 players - QF - 3 groups of 6; SF 3 groups of 3; Final - 1 group of 3

I think an 18 player field is looking most likely

Just reconfirmimg this timeline as the WC 14th December entries are predictably thin. So wc 7th December will be last counting week and 13th to 20th will be voting season.

Something special to look forward to!smile
