A big name from the past in the draw in Sabine Lisicki.I notice 2 other former Grand Slam runners up are in the draw in Sara Errani and Eugenie Bouchard.

Not a good start to Harriet's clay-court season. Her plans for the next few weeks are the French tournaments in Saint-Malo (W60k+), Cagnes-Sur-Mer (W80) and then onto Roland Garos.
Perhaps it was the heavy conditions but there was just absolutely no bite on any of Harriet's shots in the final two sets. She was letting herself get dragged all over the court and was unable to make any offensive plays.
Disappointing exit after a super start, 1-6 6-2 6-2
She still has several 1 point counters on her ranking but needs fairly big points hauls to move up towards the top 130.

Naito was the pre match betting favourite, despite being lower ranked, at odds of roughly 1/2 vs 6/4, so it's not like a wow, that's an awful defeat, but it's obviously disappointing after such as strong start, and being a high seed with a lot of 300+ players in the draw.
At least she has plenty of forthcoming events as TA points out, so it's not like she's hanging around wondering where or when she'll next play, and it was very good money for just turning up, just a shame the way it went.
I'd say roughly 75% of her pro matches have been on clay (unless I'm missing an exact stat on there somewhere), and she does have a couple of W25 clay titles, and some lower down at W15 level.
