Weeks 35/36 - US Open, Flushing Meadows, New York City (hard)

Clearly didn't hit her on purpose but for christ's sake, come on man. For people to say he hasn't done that in frustration, well they must be living under a rock. That was the culmination of what was a difficult ten minutes for him.

Clear default, and his conduct afterwards was shocking also. He must have known he was getting defaulted and wasn't going to be able to change things round...

I disagree that it was a 'good apology' if he was that sorry he would've made a statement in person (with no questions) and in his own words, not through a brilliant PR agency. It wasn't above Shapovalov to apologise, nor should it be for Nole.

Really, really badly dealt with in my opinion.

Can't argue with any of that.

Summed it up perfectly for me, Jaffa.

I think something like this has been on the cards for some time, just wasn't certain in what form it would emerge. Novak always thinks that he can do what he likes because he is world number 1, and everyone should agree with him.

Mike Dickson reporting that the line judge is still under observation from the tournament doctor.

He has also reported that she has received horrendous abuse on social media from fans of Novak Djokovic. Somebody please tell me. What sort of a world do we live in now for this to happen. It's is truly disgusting.

Outrageous. Not all Serbians though, Richard Evan's is wrong, it's a tribal Djokovic fan thing that is quite intimidating at times, if you ever disagree with them. Fanatical and non country specific.

Just to point out that Federer fans and Nadal fans can also be VERY fanatical. The thing with Djokovic fans is partly because of the "everyone is out to get him" narrative but I've seen my fair share of deluded Rafa/Fed fans also.

Murray fans definitely the worst.. agreeing with all that rampant feminism, insight into all levels of tennis and appreciation for what the other British players are doing! Approval of the way he mentored Kyle as a teenager & in his early years ... disgusting.

In my opinion the man himself is a failure as a professional tennis player ... his interest in the game is so bad he actually comes across as a tennis fan ... who like the majority of mature tennis players is hobbling around on one hip desperate to hit one more ball. Novak sets himself apart as an idol for the psycho fan but pussy cats when compared to the Iron Bru swilling, Tartan cap & wig wearing Murray eccentrics who are truely les enfants dangerous.

CD is no 3, BiS also in there at No 7

Just wondering how we're seen on other fan boards etc. I like to get global perspectives on things. Like we called Tim 'Tiger', and the rest of the world 'Tiny'

bet365 SF odds :

Carreno Busta 11/5 vs Zverev 4/11
Medvedev 4/5 vs Thiem evens

I think Thiem will win but yes I could certainly see that match go either way. But same with the other one, so to me the best value here is PCB and I wouldn't be shocked to see him win.

For the title, Thiem and Medvedev are joint favourites at 7/5 each. Zverev is 10/3 and PCB 14/1.

I picked Medvedev for the title (that was heart over head at the time because it looked a dead cert for Djokovic).
