Excellent win from Liam. Kamke is a former top 100 player. I saw him beat Kyle many years ago in Marseille.

That looks a solid win. Is the french planning to have qualifying unlike the US Open?

Interesting draw sheet. 6 of the 8 seeds went out in R1 and the other 2 are both out in R2. As we said, there will be some strange results in these early stages but this is anyone's tournament.

I have no idea how accurate this report is, but it seems to be that there will be qualifying.

I would assume so and that's why Liam is playing on clay.

No Brits involved but plenty of talent on show in this brief highlights package.

I said before I thought this would be Liam's last year on tour. Wonder if he has a post covid run, he will continue?

The money from the UK Pro Series events will have helped him, plus Battle of Brits. He got his form together towards end of that and is clearly giving the clay Challenger events a go (not much option though, clay is the only surface they are playing on!)

They got money for Battle of the Brits? This is a bit like when Alex Bogdanovic, got 8 wild cards to Wimbledon (£240k ish).  I often tell people that I was a semi-decent school boy level tennis player in Norway, and I won the same amount of matches at Wimbledon as Alex Bogdanovic.  Not a lie.

The first BotB had a £100k prize fund, between 8 players and doubles. So he would have got a few k I am sure.

I was the U14 Champion of Wetherby, West Yorkshire, shame we never got to play, Vandy.

PS not seen you around here for a while, hope all well

I have not been around as not tennis to comment on, back now though
