So far this is about as good a match as you'll see from Johanna Konta. Serving big, accurate deep groundstrokes, unbothered by Flipkins attempts to mix it up.
She'll face another qualifier in the next round, either Siegemund or Zvonareva, who should be starting fairly soon (unless Anisimova can turn her match around), but some decent points on the board already, considering she has now taken advantage and backed up that first round bye.
I saw this and wasn't sure if you meant jo playing well didn't last long or the match didn't last long. Relieved to see it was the latter, hope jo can build on this but if not atleast she has 1 good win under her belt going into the US Open
