Week 32 - UK Pro Series Classic Week- St George's Hill, Weybridge - (Hard)

Henry Patten finding this week tougher with two straight sets losses so far in Group B.

As mentioned above by Madadman, the mens level is a notch higher this week and seems very competitive, looking forwards to an interesting week ahead

Well done to Dino. It means the group B, at the end of Day 2, looks like:

B
5 J. Ward
5 R. Peniston (although Dino and Ryan are neck and neck)
-------------------
3 A. Fery
3 L. Johnson
--------------------
2 J. Cash
0 H. Patten

Decent looking effort by Arthur so his run ends at just the 16 wins in a row.

Looks like Peniston vs Fery may be pivotal to SF progression.

And two really good efforts to no avail by Julian Cash in very tight MTB defeats to Ward and Peniston.

Some terrific stuff in the Liam vs Ali G match. Wouldn't be surprised to see them both make the last 4.

Tough one in the last match of the day as Dan beats Billy in an MTB. At 6-6 in that MTB, on the Cox serve, Billy was all over the next point, up at the net for an easy volley but the net cord did for him and he didn't will another point. That will be tough to take.

That'll just be 8 out of Dan's 9 matches over the last 9 days that will have gone to MTBs and he's won 6 of these plus the final last week.

Another "ol' timer" does for a younger player:

RR2/6:  Daniel Cox UNR defeated Billy Harris WR 790 by 6-7(?) 6-2 [10-6] in two hours & three minutes

I make the group standings as below: both groups feel like there is a lot still to play for, no one on 6 points and 4 players on 3 points in each group. Feels like this could all be quite close on the mens side

A TOTAL
5 L. Broady
5 A. Matusevich
----------------------
4 A. Gray
3 D. Cox
----------------------
1 B. Harris
0 M. Whitehouse

B
5 J. Ward
5 R. Peniston
-------------------
3 A. Fery
3 L. Johnson
-------------------
2 J. Cash
0 H. Patten

I would love to see Alastair Gray make a real run in the near future, that's a great effort today.

Fery - Peniston should be an interesting one today. A Fery win could make things interesting with the group standings especially if Cash wins as well.

 Yes, me too.

He's really got to sort out his forehand though. He doesn't trust it, resorts to chipping it far too often.

Glad to see Ali G get the win today - as DelayedR says, he made a great effort yesterday and just came up short.

But beats Anton in 2 sets today, playing well.
