First WTA title on US soil? She already has WTA Linz on her record. I hope she does, but Brady has been in some form this week, so today will be tough.

Yes wish I'd meant to say US soil but actally forgotten she'd won Linz.
The ITF used to do 4 week series about 10-15 years ago didn't they? I remember some of players taking part in them in Mexico in particular. It was like 3 weeks of 5ks and a final 15k week or something?

Precisely. Satellite circuits. A circuit was often 50k total, 3 10k and a 20 or similar. The first 3 weeks got points for week 4. ATP and wta ranking points where based on overall positions over the 4 weeks of the circuit.

Yep, 2 slam R4's, a R3 and a WTA title, all acheived when she was still just 15, and good to see she has picked up from where she left off before the pandemic. No (home) fans in attendance obviously, but hopefully there's a fair few over there tuning in on TV this week so her profile continues to grow.
