And served more aces than Naomi...

Emily has a good serve, a nice forehand that she disguises well, and a decent drop shot and slice which she can execute from far back in the court. She has enough to do much better than she is currently in terms of rankings, I reckon.

The big one about to get underway. Hopefully a good final.

Ah, forgot I'm a bit behind, it's already underway, Jodie 1-0, but not sure if a break or hold.

Raducanu 6-5 up but ball in corner from burrage at 5-5 40-15 on raducanu serve looked in on the replay (but called out) and commentator clearly thought so too. The sort of shot some players can easily call out normally because noone else can see it (without linesmen/women).... except the camera could.

It's been an enjoyable match so far, these 2 are very well matched (certainly at this stage of their respective careers), but the line calls have been a fairly focal part, on both sides. I guess the stakes are just that much bigger today with a lot on the line.

6-6 in the MTB, Jodie was 5-1 and 6-2 up, so a good mini comeback from Emma.

And now a mini break up (Emma) *7-6.

Really good comeback from Emma there, both in the match and the MTB. Wins 6-7(1) 6-2 10-8 to take both the title, $20k, and possible bragging rights. Enjoyable match.

I was just thinking, Jodie has now been in 3 main finals in 3 different events this summer, but has lost them all fairly narrowly:

BT Premier event, early July - lost to Emma 4-6 6-2 4-10, so went the distance, but was never really in a position where the W was within touching distance
Progress Tour, mid July - lost to Katie B - 6-3 6-7(4) 2-6, served for the match
UK Pro Series grand final, mid Aug - lost to Emma 7-6(1) 2-6 8-10, was 6-2 up in the MTB

She did of course win an individual event at the UK PS, so at least has some sort of trophy, and she'll obviously have a lot of cash for her efforts after $15k today, $6k for winning that weekly event, and whatever else she received for the other 2 finals.

I'm not sure where or when we'll see the likes of Emma and Jodie in action again. Hopefully both will get enough chances to compete internationally before the end of the year.
