According to the commentators, Eden had food poisoning overnight. She's on the order of play for tomorrow.
Eliz is out though, and Alice Gillan has taken her place.

Hopefully Eliz still gets 12th money, Nadia 11th, and Alice gets alt money, as in basically Eliz 'lost' her match today, and accepted 12th tomorrow by conceding, and Alice is just filling the schedule as a needs must, a bit like when Erin came in for Maia on the Sunday a few weeks ago to play Beth. It would be a huge stroke of luck if Alice came in played someone struggling playing her 35th match in 35 days, won, and then ended up taking $3,500 for her troubles.

So maybe Holly maybe wasn't eligible, or she was just back up north and couldn't make it down, whereas Alice is more in the area.

A 9am start tomorrow.

Some decent, fitting matches there to end a very enjoyable 6 period.

Emily Ap and Naomi have had some good battles here. Naomi 3-1 up in their mini series, but all have been close, and Emily won their last meeting last Sunday.
Emily Arb is currently 2-1 up on Freya, so a chance for Freya to have the final word.
And in the most significant match, Emma and Jodie are 2-2 over the summer, spread across 3 events, and a second final for them. Really looking forward to that one.

Naomi, yes, in some good battles but it is a little sad the level she is battling at. Though Emily App certainly seems to have pushed on a bit, not before time.

I'd put Naomi, Emily App and Beth at about the same level right now. All can be inconsistent, all can battle with the best as we have seen over the last few weeks.
And some of the lesser names are also playing close to that level, on their day.

Emily Ap really doesn't have any weapons - Naomi has her serve (if it's working). Sad to see Eden S. has retired again. After 5 months off it would be nice to start with fit players.

Eden is on the OOP for tomorrow - her retirement was reported as food poisoning (which I take as an exaggeration)

Thanks for the info - a long chat on the Portland telephone should see her right. smile

I don't have the figures for the men's prize-money, but on the women's side, including the money guaranteed so far this week I make Naomi in front on 24K with 1.5k to play for. Jodie and Eden can beat that if they win the title as they are both on 13.5k with another 12.5k to play for.

Looking at the mens, Billy is on 26k with 0.5 to play for; Ryan 21.5k with 5k to play for; and Liam is now on 24k (15k from this event) with 5k to play for.

So Liam or  Ryan look like just being top earner  across the 6 weeks, the Broady's as a pair will win around 50k, possibly early 50's - which is a pretty decent  family return!

No, she doesn't. But a lot of top 100 players don't have any real specific weapons as such, it's more a question of a sum of the parts.

Interesting that she says she feels so much better since taking up yoga and meditation during lockdown.

No big weapons, but plenty of tenacity.

5/6: Emily Appleton WR675 def Naomi Broady WR499 7-6(4) 6-2
