Thanks cya. She won the second set 6-0 in 19 mins, so that rubberstamps that anyway.
Holly vs Summer to round today off. If Holly gets a set she is 3rd, Erin 4th, Summer 5th, if Summer wins 2-0 then it's calculators out between those 3 for placings.
It has been an intense few weeks of back to back matches, so not surprised that some of the girls are tired and retiring. Hope those that have qualified are fit enough for next week, as it would be a shame if some of them pulled out in the middle of Classic Week - with all that prize money at stake.
Missed the significance of this at the time. I assume Abby is the 19 year old from Kent - there are 4 others listed on the LTA site, but all of much, much lower rating.
Holly has the first set, so soon be finished for the day.
I wonder at what point they will be able to confirm the updated qualifiers list and wildcards for the events. Presumably most of the 20 , if it is 20, will now be locked in? Assuming no one who qualifies will decline to play , unless injured?
Holly with a comfortable first set over Summer, so bar any retirements or withdrawals, she should have secured 3rd place, and another meeting with Nadia tomorrow.
Holly did win their first SGH match, maybe when Nadia's stock was a bit lower, but if she repeats that then she would have an interesting match on Sunday, where a place in the Classic could be at stake, provided neither Olivia or Victoria win the title outright, but obviously a few hurdles on place before that.
Hypothetically, it would be interesting if say Eliz beat Erin in the other match and just conceded that placing match like Maia presumably did the other week and accepted 6th to rest up before the Classic. Imagine them bringing Emily Arb as an alt in a one off match and the winner got a place in the Classic.

Holly finally over the line in a long first set against Nadia 7-6(7). She had 8 BPs spread over 3 games to Nadia's 1, but no breaks. Was 5-2 up in the TB but gave back to back DFs, and eventually had to save a SP.
It would make things more interesting for tomorrow if she came through this match.
More convincing scoreline in the second set, 6-1, but still a fair few long games, and over 45 mins.
So Holly could be one match away from the Classic. But still a lot of questions to answer before that, both on and off the court. Olivia and Victoria would both get priority if either were to win the event outright, and then we're still not fully sure if it's 9+3 or 10+2. If it was the former she'd be out of contention. Plus, she is now tied on 15 points with Emily Arb with one match to go, a win would move her on to 16 and past her, but if she lost tomorrow, both would be on 15 and we wouldn't know for certain who would be prioritised in that scenario - I'd imagine Emily because she had the highest score in an individual event reaching the final (11), but nothing official.

It'll be tough for Victoria to have to get past both Naomi and then the person who beat her 1 and 0 just five days ago (Emily Ap) if she wants to make the Classic week, but she does seem to have improved as the week has gone on, and has served well - she'll definitely need to serve well here to have any chance.
There could still be , but I think I knew what you meant, no player gatecrashing the Classic by winning this event, and both finalists had already secured their place.
A Naomi vs Emily Ap repeat final from a few weeks back.
Not really fussed about the rest of the matches, but will be keeping an eye on Eliz vs Erin later to see who Holly faces tomorrow.
