Strange match. Emily Ap took the first set 6-0 in 20 mins, and then went a very early break up in the second, but Erin won 5 games on the trot out of nowhere, and eventually took the second set 6-3 to take it to the MTB. Emily won that 10-4, so a 6-0 3-6 10-4 victory for her to move on to 11 points.
So Holly, Vic, and Erin are all on 6 points now. Holly plays Vic next (warming up). Vic vs Erin tomorrow, Holly vs Summer, so Holly has the more favourable match, and you'd think any win here and she would almost be there. There could be a scenario where all of them are on 9 points, like last week, but I guess we'll know more of the landscape after this big match.
Appleton seemed to make harder going of that than she should have done. But it looks like she will now be into the last 4 for certain?
Yeah, officially made the SF now, because Vic and/or Holly are going to be dropping points here, and both of them can't reach 11 points, neither can Erin. Emily plays Annali next, so extremely likely to top the group as well.
Victoria won 6-4 6-3. Pretty comfortable, served well - it took Holly until the 5th game to win a point on Vic's serve, so she has moved on to 9 points, and just needs a set tomorrow against Erin to seal her SF place. If Erin wins in straight sets then they would both be on 9, as would Holly if she beat Summer in straight sets, and then probably pot luck to see who went through, ha, but if Holly didn't win in straight sets (any other outcome) then Erin would probably go through on H2H, so still a bit to play for, but just one set needed for Vic. She's done well to turn this around because she came into the event on the back of a 2 and 0 defeat to Grace Piper at the BT, and then lost 1 and 0 to Emily Ap in her first match, so looked a bit damaged goods, but that's 3 wins on the spin.
Even if Holly doesn't make the SF, she could still make the Classic if she finishes in 5th place overall again as that would take her on to 16 points and above Emily Arb, as long as Vic/Erin didn't surprisingly take the title, but then, we don't know if it's 2 or 3 WCs, so we probably won't know until the very last minute if a 10th place overall finish would be enough for her.

Pretty flat so far here from Eliz, has never really looked like getting back into it. This group could well have 3 players on 9 points by tomorrow evening in the race for second place.
Great win for Olivia, 6-3 6-2, and with Emily M to come, she might be favourite to finish 2nd now, although it would help if we knew the exact tie breaker rules.
Not great from Eliz though, Olivia was as long as 5/1 with some bookies, and it was pretty routine. I'm not sure if it was her potentially preserving energy, matches finally catching up, or if she was just comprehensively outplayed, but either way, it's not particularly encouraging for next week.
Group A has massively turned on its head these past few hours. Abi 6-1 4-1* up on Nadia. As it stands, Nadia will do pretty well to avoid finishing 5th and being dumped into the 9-12 playoffs.
Today shows that fairly sizeable betting upsets can happen, especially when players could be running on fumes, and you can't take anything for granted, but the remaining fixtures probably should clear the picture up a little bit.
Olivia vs Emily M, and Naomi vs Nadia. Olivia would be through to the SF with a straight sets, unless Nadia also beat Naomi in straight sets (which seems very unlikely). Olivia has beaten both Abi and Eliz, so if one of those potentially join Olivia on 9, Olivia would have the H2H over both, assuming that is the differentiator in a 2 way tie. An unlikely Nadia straight sets win would also put her on 9, and that's possibly when the calculators come out, unless they just decide to put through whoever they want, ha.
Regarding Nadia, she's pretty certain to finish 5th if she loses in straight sets tomorrow, and I'm not even sure if she'll still need those 4 points to qualify for the Classic, but she'll probably now end up with a reasonably competitive match with Summer the day before the classic starts, rather than having the option to concede a 5th/6th 7th/8th playoff match, so not great news for her.
Surprise couple of hours. You could have got 27/1 on an Olivia-Abi double at Betvictor, and that's just to win, nevermind both doing it in straight sets.
