Nadia finding it tough against Emily M, possibly a sign that the matches are catching up with her. This'll be her 22nd in 22 days at SGH, and unlike say a Naomi, she'll be relying on her movement more, and less likely to have shorter matches. This was her match times last week:
M - 2 hrs T - 1 hr 30 W - 2 hr T - 2 hr F - 2 hr 37 S - 2 hr S - 1 hr 30
She still needed 4 points this week to secure her place next week, so wasn't really in the position to withdraw (if she wanted to play the Classic), and maybe wouldn't have had the name value to get a WC if she did withdraw, so she's possibly looking at 35 matches in 35 days by next Sunday.
Into a TB against Emily, and another hr on the clock.
It got a lot better for her since I posted that. Won the TB and now serving for the match at *5-2 30-0.

So Annali must have replaced Danielle. No massive loss as Danielle was never a contender here, and has finished bottom or second bottom every time she has played, and lost her first match today, so it doesn't mess it up in that respect either, but man, they're dropping like flies.

Yes generous as the prize money is I do feel that too much is being expected of players. I can understand the temptation to play but 5 day events would have been much better. Sadly I suspect that it is the betting companies who have led the organisers astray.
Not surprising, considering how many matches some of them have played.
True. Danielle did retire in a match yesterday, and also lost the final 10 games in her match today, so if anyone was going to withdraw, she'd have been high up my list of assumptions.
I guess the thought of being a front runner in the race to an additional $5k (in a pretty weak field) is keeping Naomi and Emily Ap motivated, since both have already secured their spots, Eliz too possibly (although it's hard seeing her beating Naomi at some point), and Nadia still needs a few more points to be certain of her place next week. I suppose it's a good chance for the likes of Summer/Erin/Annali to be involved in winnable matches.

It really is a hell of a schedule. I was just saying earlier that Nadia will potentially be looking at 35 SGH matches in 35 days by next Sunday as she was still not secured of her place going into this week, and she's not really the type to either overwhelm someone, or be thrashed herself, so most of her matches are like 1 hr 30 to 2 hr +, so that's got to catch up with her soon.
Agree with 5, that would be far more manageable. Hopefully a few concede their Sunday placing matches (if not in the actual final), assuming they still get the points and money for finishing 4th, 6th, 8th etc. and then can at least have a day off before the Classic.
By my reckoning Naomi has already passed $15k for this tournament, and Emily Ap $12k. Nadia is over $9k. As previously commented, big sums in relation to the sums on offer for W15 and W25 events

As has been said, ridiculous day after day scheduling. But I can understand why some are playing so much.
Thank Jon. Does every player get something though? Even 12th place?
The tournie website says there is $500k total prizemoney on offer, someone did advise the exact split per event, I believe it was $30k per event, mens and womens, which would leave c $100k per mens and womens in the final. So that would suggest a decent amount of loose change for places 2-12! I suspect the prizemoney is quite close per position, eg $5k, $4,500, $4000 etc down to maybe less than a $1k at lower positions, but still pretty every player gets something.
Telstar and cya are posters that seem to have good insights on the event so maybe able to give you (and me!)a more accurate answer!

thanks telstar! So someone like Billy Harris who has come 4th, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd and played all 4 weeks would have made $17,500 so far. And more to come this week!
Do you know the Classics week breakdown by chance?
A bit late to reply from my side but thanks Telstar! Great stuff! And good to see that everyone gets at least 1000 for showing up.
