POLL - Who will win the Battle of the Brits - singles

Wondering who we all think will take this event in a week or two:

Listed in draw order - 1-4 are in Henman, 5-8 in Rusedski.

Cross over semis and a final.

The bragging rights when this gets going will be interesting. In Henman Group, Kyle coming top over Andy feels likely to me; in Group Rusedski, Dan seems up for it, I wonder if Jack D can come through here to the semis?

If Kyle plays Jack D in semis and Dan v Andy, I reckon Kyle and Andy could play in the final, have a feeling Andy would take Dan by getting in his head!

Kyle might be fitter and more eager to win the event as a whole, so I am favouring him

I get the impression that Dan is pretty fit and ready and raring to go. He is my pick.

I have gone for Kedders. It is difficult to judge at the moment because the form guide is non existent. Andy, if he is fit, could take the title but I somehow think he will need more time to bed back into match play than the others.

Dan is currently above Kedders in the rankings and deservedly so given the last 18 months, but Kyle has a 3-0 head to against him. Just think it is a good match up for Kyle.

Would love to see the younger players put up strong performances as well.

I don't think any of them will be all that rusty - they all seem to be practising together - and they are all very competitive !

And I need to check my eyesight.  When I first read your comment, I saw:

"I need to have a drink before I vote."

I am seriously getting old. disbelief

For this one it really depends on how the groups end.

IMHO, Andy can beat Kyle as he proved at Cincinatti a couple of years ago, he should be far to good for Ward though, Broady vou be tricky for him.

I'm actually going to be bold here and say Andy beats Kyle in 3 and tops the group ahead of Kyle.

In the other group, I'm hoping for some competitive matches between the top guys and the youngsters.

Jack is good in Challengers but this is a step up so he could find it difficult, unfortunately for me :(.

So in that group, I'm saying Dan comes out on top ahead of Cam or Jay (I can see Cam struggling in this group).

Will there be a women's equivalent of this event? And if so would Johanna Konta and Heather Watson be likely to play?

 Hi Rosamund

This is just mens, organised by Jamie Murray.

There is a womens event being played in July, organised by Barry Fulcher and the Progress Tour. Its similar in structure, with two divisions of 8 wome  playing in it, again round robin groups like this. Field isnt announced yet but pre advertising shows most top women but not yet jo or heather

Some errors in this link. No likelihood of Heather playing. As announced there will be two separate tiers of eight players further divided into groups of 4. Top two in each group will qualify for semis. Same for doubles except only one tier.
