Who is your FAVOURITE of FAVOURITES? Womens Wild Card Qualifier

I'm no fan of Bouchard but she had had some real substance as a player.

In 2014 she reached the Wimbledon final plus Australian and French Open SFs.

Then she had quite a fall-off in 2015 before literally falling in the US Open locker-room and being concussed, just as she had reached R4, the first back to back wins she had had since March.

There is a much better tennis player in there than we have seen over the last few years.

No votes for Anna Kournikova. About 20 years ago she was everybodys favourite  although she never won a WTA tournament.

Haha let's not be too sweeping with the everybody biggrin

She could probably be described though as the first celebrity tennis player, who made more from her modelling than her tennis itself.

 Indeed!

Kournikova and Bouchard are the favourite players of those who like pretty girls more than they like tennis!

You can knock Bouchard but the fact remains she did achieve something most players never do and that was play in a Grand Slam singles  final(Wimbledon for good measure) She did better in that department than any British woman since Virginia Wade in 1977.

You know, I realise I didnt suggest maria kirilenko. Apart from being a very pretty girl, i thought she seemed a good person and took tennis seriously. She didnt go for all the self publicity of others mentioned here, although she did some.

Yes at her best in 2014 she was on a par with Kerber and Halep. I can  remember seeing  her routing Kerber in Paris 2014 and repeating  the win at Wimbledon and then defeating  Halep in 2 sets to reach the final. One doesn't know how the defeat to Kvitova affected her. After that I can   remember 2 decent performances in 2016. One being the match against Sharapova  in Stuttgart and the other was against Jo at Wimbledon.
