Slightly amazed Dominika Cibulkova leads, but she does! 4 players just a vote behind her, with 19 votes in as we head to bed!
Jon as you told me on a previous vote it is your favourite not the best player. Domi has tbe advantage of being a player people remember. To me she was a bundle of energy and always gave a 100 per cent. She is due to give birth fairly soon.

Hi Rosamund, yes, totally agree! Just I never realised, as someone who doesn't follow the wta too closely these days, that she was that popular! But good for her!
All to play for, anyone could make the final from this list.
No further votes today ! Might all be to play for, but no one seems to be picking up their racquet and playing! havent they got the message, folks can play singles tennis again!
Karen Susman yet to score, perhaps promoted out of her depth. Some colour commentary required!
She's out of her depth here. She won Wimbledon in 1962 and won 3 grand slam doubles titles with Billie Jean King.
For me this is a very interesting group. Neither of the two I narrowed my vote down too, Little Mo and Althea Gibson, look like they might make it to the final, but there is nevertheless a good chance I will vote for a player from this group in the final.
Re Karen Susman when she won Wimbledon in 1962 it was that short period when the great American champions had retired and Court and King were not mature enough to take over. But it was a sensation when unseeded Billie-Jean beat the top seed Margaret Smith(Court) in the 1st round. Ann Jones beat Billie-Jean in the quarter finals and lost to Mrs. Susman in the semi finals. Although she was still a teenager when she won Wimbledon she had married in 1961 at the age of 18. She did not defend the title in 1963 because I think she was pregnant. Along with Marion Bartoli she is the only woman to win the Wimbledon singles title after the 2nd world war and never play in the final of any of the other 3 Grand Slams. Coincidentally with Marion she played 7 matches to win Wimbledon and did not drop a set. That is quite an achievement.
