I know I know but that is what I loved about him!

A little bit of me in there, that never ever came out!

Despite watching him in his tennis days, I just couldn't bring myself to vote for Nasty. Went for Washington as one of the trailblazers for black players on the circuit.

I recall flying with BA to LAX one year, on a Monday . Rain had caused the Mens doubles final to be held over to the Monday, Stich and Mac played together, a packed out court 1. Mid flight , the Captain announced the score, it was a big deal! Stich beat Becker of course to win his WImbledon title, wingspan was his trick, also a great commentator!

For reasons I forget I quite liked Tom Okker. That'll do

Smith leads with just 4 votes, very tight in this group, anyone could still make it

Wilhelm Bungert is another  player who   frustrated British tennis. I am referring to Wimbledon 1967 when he beat Roger Taylor in the semi finals. He was well beaten in the final by John Newcombe and supposedly played in the final as if he  was just happy to reach the final. He was also a semi finalist at Wimbledon in 1963 and 1964. I notice he was born in Mannheim which is the birthplace of Steffi Graf.

Okker and Nastase now lead, from Smith, as the group moves around
