When Virginia Wade was living (and learning) her tennis in South Africa between 1946 and 1961 Renee Schuurman was one of the big names of South African tennis. She was also a doubles and mixed doubles Grand Slam champion including a doubles win in the French in 1963 with Ann Jones. She died in 2001 at the age of 61.
