Remember, all those late voters, it is great you take part but we have time cut offs that sadly mean you can still place a vote in the poll after the cut off time.
Womens tie play offs now closed. Mens Round one polls close c. 6 pm tomorrow so please try and vote before then!
the 3 womens semis groups are drawn and will be posted around 6 or just after this evening. I have done them randomly - ish with 2 provisos a) keeping away players from same first round group b) kept the top players in each first round group evenly spread
It has ended up with 3 very evenly balanced semis, I must say, so should be fun!
Interesting how the voting goes in these polls. Womens was strong from the start and a steady flow through the time period; mens went off at a belting pace yesterday and through the evening and then 1 vote in total this morning! Suggests most voted straight away! For anyone who hasnt voted on the mens, there is still plenty of time, voting closes at c. 6pm this evening!
So, roughly 6 hours left, think we have 1 single vote this morning, so may be pretty much done, but lets see it through til 6. The tie play offs will currently be numerous, so look out for those this evening!

Hi Jon. I think it was Rosamund who mentioned that Karen Susman (who won Wimbledon singles in 62) had been omitted from the 1st round. I believe you said that, if this were to happen to any player, you would give them a bye to the semis?

Oh gosh, yes - I didnt spot that if someone/Rosamund mentioned it before! Really sorry! yes, I did say that and Karen Susman will indeed be added!
I am just working through the list again to see if anyone else is missed.I cant see anyone - the women are tricky as some names change from maiden to married surnames and I had to google a few to check.
I think it is just Karen (Hantze) Susman that is missing and I will run my random number generator to add her to a list. Edit - she is now added into Group A, not that it means much to anyone at this stage!
Any other mens or womens, please shout before 6 pm!!
thanks Bagel and Rosamund!

I am also thinking I left out Thelma Coyne Long as well, Aussie Champion in 1952 and 54. I have looked through my lists and for some reason replaced her with someone else and dont think I should have done.
Oh dear, having a mare!
If anyone else has time to run through the womens finalists post war and mens post 1963 (where my original cut off was ) and see if anyone else was missing, then I will add them to the semis listings!
151 votes in for the mens as I head to bed, good stuff!
3 hours left, votes increased (we have roughly 18 or 19 in most groups, 20 in one, 15 in the infamous Group 8!). A few more before we close and we should have another decent haul!
Mens polls closed, 189 votes in total, not as strong as the ladies voting, but still good.
4 groups ended in ties, Group 8 has a play off for 2 places and all are now posted, closing at 11 pm
Womens semifinal groups are up. Group A and C have 11 players as two ladies missing from the round 1 polls have been added, my bad. I hope they both get a vote or two!
those polls close 6 pm Thursday.
Enjoy and keep the colour comments coming, it is great reading the info!
