Ended up voting for Jo Durie here, none of the others really rocked my boat, clearly respected Ann Jones achievements

Have gone with Jo although nearly went with Christine Truman as per the first round.

When I first came on the forum 3 or 4 years ago, I have to confess that initially I wondered if Indiana was a play on Indiana Jones, and a hint that Indiana might in fact be Ann Jones herself. However Indiana's profile says male, so I guess not.

Hope no I haven't offended either Indiana or Ann Jones - just seeing Ann Jones in the poll reminded me of that.

What is the backgound of Nicola Slater ? I know most of the women players names but this is the one I don't recognise.

I am only going by wiki but she is apparently Scottish, from Ayr, and played at Florida in University. She is 35 now but reached a ranking high of 167. Seems to do a lot on twitter

and judging by the posts is close to Judy Murray, presumably she is in coaching herself now?

Maybe 5 or 6 more votes to come in here so no-one is definitely through at this stage. It looks like Jo will make it but it wont take much to change 2nd and 3rd positions.

Nik Slater over time became very much a  doubles specialist with that 167 ranking being her doubles CH. She had a singles CH 650.

I haven't followed her on twitter for a long time but she used to be most amusing, not always intentionally, with some of her un-PC tweets, such as about tournaments snd opponents and indeed herself if a match was badly conceded. And the Scottish hierarchy certainly knew thst she was far from happy about being left out of the Scotland squad for the 2010 New Delhi Commonwealth Games. On ability she certainly deserved a place over one particular player who went.

So this feisty Scot certainly drew my attention to follow her matches quite closely as well as follow her twitter! She has had my vote through the first two rounds.

She has certainly been involved in coaching, including of Ali Collins, after Ali's abortive short spell in the US. I don't think a doubles specialist was what Ali needed ( more repetitive singles basics ) and I don't know if there is still any link up there.

I had missed thst.

It is related to Indana Jones and goes back many years to a workplace indiana nickname I acquired related to my propensity to go off for 3 to 4 week trekking holidsys in vsrious continents of the world.

your name fits nicely in the middle of Indiana as well, so it all works out nicely!

And Nicola Slater, who was a qualies wild card, could be heading through in this group
