I have 3 favourites here so this was a toughie. Elected for Michelle Tyler this time - she did really well and I remember her pulling off a great Wightman Cup win to help win the trophy (which was a very rare thing).
I voted for Amanda Grunfeld because we spoke to her and her parents at events like the British championships at Telford and the 1993 Fed Cup and they were really friendly.
I see Monique Javer has got no votes. On the positive side she did reach the 2nd round of all the Grand Slams which only 2 British female players have done in the 21st century. On the negative side she is probably the first player to represent GB with little or no connection to GB. She represented GB from 1988 to 1994 when she sort of disappeared from the scene. She had an English born mother and was born in the USA. I don't think she ever lived in the UK and she still lives in the USA. She later coached in the USA and was involved in the development of CiCi Bellis. No one ever seemed troubled about her background (like certain more recent players) but maybe it was because she wasn't particularly successful although she did win a WTA singles title in 1988. She played the Fed Cup at Nottingham in 1993 where she won all her matches and never played for GB again.
I am also taking Amanda Grunfield with 1 vote through due to how the next round draw works out and she is the only other amongst all the groups with a vote who otherwise would not progress.
