A reminder that 1st round groups consist of:-

- Members of Federation/Fed Cup Teams

- Additional players that were part of Wightman Cup Teams

- Players that won at least one singles match at Wimbledon

- Players from qualifying including one Lucky Loser

This is now knockout.

I saw Corinne Molesworth early in my tennis watching years so I've voted for her!

Her best results junior and senior were at the French Open on clay which is interesting.

She had a really strange ground game, nicelescu ish , which worked on the clay I think.

Must admit I didn't expect to see Lindsey Blachford here. I went to the same school as her and once ball-girled a match for her! What a claim to fame for me!!!! Had to vote for her! I remember when she played junior Wimbledon and we (well, some of us!) were totally in awe of her.

I think she beat an early-career Sue Barker at Wimbledon so she cant have been too shabby a player!

Found this group difficult as for me there arent any stand-out favourites. Chose Julie Pullin in the end.

She reached the quarter finals of the French Championships in 1972 beating  Wimbledon finalist Judy Dalton on route and losing to Evonne Goolagong in the quarters. She was yet another Devonian coached by Arthur Roberts.

Interesting, several gone for Julie Pullin. I know the name but not her story, anyone?

Impressed to see Lisa Whybourn leading this one, and a qualifying wild card as well. I know little about her but good to see her getting support!

Julie and the Pullins are a tennis family from Sussex. She is now Julie Hobbs and was playing from the early 90's to 2003. She was the top ranked British female at one stage but never broke into the top100.In 2000 she qualified for the Australian Open and won a round. Unfortunately she was the recipient of 9 singles wild cards at Wimbledon without  winning a match. In one match  against Marlene Weingartner  she did have match points but lost.
