As a reminder, the qualifying round is for players who played singles at Wimbledon but did not win a match in this period. I have included a number of wild cards to bring the totals up to 45 for men and women.
There are 5 groups of 9 players with a random draw.
Those with the highest number of votes (with a maximum of 16 players) across all the 5 groups will qualify for the 1st round proper.
Please feel free to provide reasons for your choices along with any memories that you may have of them.
! am planning to close the polls at around 10.00 on Saturday morning

It seems to me there are many untold stories in most of these names...There are few I've heard of apart from the younger players, largely because I did not grow up in the UK.
For those who don't know, Amanda Janes is the daughter of Christine Truman, who became Christine Janes. Amanda is also known as Amanda Keen after marriage and maybe known to some folks by that name?

Anna Fitzpatrick seems to have proven herself the most favoured player in the womens qualifiers. She is a Yorkshire lass and I am certain that although she is from Sheffield, she went to school at Woodhouse Grove in Bradford, a private school, and played at Ilkley as a player for the club. Great she has done well!
Anna beat Jo Konta in straight sets in the 1st round at Tallinn in August 2010. Excluding Jo retiring a couple of times I think Anna was the last British player to defeat Jo in a singles match.
