Loving all the pics Bob. If anyone else has similar photos would be great to see them

The down side for me is that I know I have plenty of other photos hidden away and now I can't find them. Damn frustrating. All your fault Brittak wink

Bob, just seen your tweet with the video of Aretha Franklin sing natural woman. I mean , wow, that is the most awe inspiring performance,  and at a time when she was Ill as well.

I love Aretha, my wife has a cd of her in the car currently, not that we can drive it anywhere, and we just love her.

Thanks for that tweet, it brought tears to my eyes, very special

As an aside, I saw Smokey Robinson at Hammersmith Odeon in the early 90s, that brought me to tears as well!

SUMMARY POSTS - For Polls British players since 1968 not currently ranked

Conscious I posted in other threads and knocked some of the polls to the 2nd page, so they may not all get seen, so I am going to work through and comment on them all and bring to the top!

A quick reminder that polls will close at about 10am tomorrow although there have already been lots of votes cast which is great.

It certainly seems like I have struck a chord with this one and there have been a number of newbie posters which is fantastic. Welcome all.

Think the next round will start sorting out the wheat from the chaff. Hoping to get that up and running sometime late tomorrow afternoon.

thanks Brittak - been lots of interest in this one, I think the golden oldies ( like me) have had our appetities whetted and the younger folks on the board perhap been inspired to look into players and names from the past, so it has been interesting so far!

Interesting to note that two of the ladies groups got  23 votes. One group included Anne Keothavong and Ann Jones and the other Laura Robson. Two mens groups got 22 votes. One included Tim Henman and the other Colin Fleming and Jamie Baker. Interesting to note that  Jonny Marray and  Jamie Delgado were  the highest scoring males with just over  50% but Virginia Wade got over 70% ,Elena Baltacha over  60% Anne Keothavong  , and  Laura Robson over 50%.  Neither Tim Henman or Greg Rusedski got over 50%

Thanks Rosamund - a good summary there.

Of course, some of the percentages might be affected by who else is in any particular group but some clear favourites do appear to have emerged so far.

MEN

There were 207 votes overall. Taking top 4 and ties means 45 players qualify for the next round. Interesting to see the number of qualifiers holding onto their support base except for Josh Ward-Hibbert.

See each page for detailed qualifiers.

The second round will consist of 5 groups of 9 players with a random draw.

WOMEN

There were 212 votes overall. Taking top 4 and ties means 43 players qualify. As there will be an unbalanced draw anyway, I am going to put through the only other player with 1 vote so that makes 44. This means that all players who got a vote are still in. Again interesting to see the number of players from qualifying still going strong.

See each page for detailed qualifiers.

The second round will therefore consist of 4 groups of 9 players and 1 group of 8 with a random draw.

Aiming to get both draws up later this afternoon.

Great job with this, and apologies for catching up late. Great to see 2 of my faves Lucie and Katie in the running but sadly Karen Paterson didn't make the criteria.

Been interesting learning about lots of pre 2000 players, that's when I started following tennis so a great history lesson too!

Round 2 Polls now all up.

I think this is where the competition starts getting really interesting. This was a random draw and it has thrown up some interesting groups. Women's Group A looks particularly brutal!!

Top 3 plus ties from each group to SF.

Polls close Wednesday morning at about 10am.

Enjoy!

Early votes are in and things looking interesting already. Suspect there might be a bit of holding back in some groups - some tactical voting might be going on!!
