New poll events - British players since 1968 not currently ranked

Men's First Round polls are now up too!

A reminder that 1st Round groups consist of:-

- Members of Davis cup Teams

- Additional Players that won at least one singles match at Wimbledon.

When doing the mens draw, I have noticed an error that the eagle-eyed amongst you might spot!

Nick Gould did actually play Davis Cup (a dead rubber) and therefore should have been in this round anyway. However as he only got one vote in qualifying (and that was from me!), I don't think it fair to bring him back in.

So, this leaves a space, which for a bit of fun, goes to Marcus Willis. He was in my original list but I then took him out as I realised he had regained a doubles ranking earlier this year so I wasn't sure whether he should therefore be eligible. Anyhow, thought it would be interesting to see how he gets on so he is in group 1.

This is now knockout.

Top 4 from each group to qualify for second round.

Polls close Monday c10.00am

Having got all this together I now need to go and sit in a dark room until the sun gets over the yardarm!!

Can't even contemplate any of my own votes until later.

 Great effort, well done!

Out of interest, can you see the votes placed even though you've not voted? I couldn't when I did them but Indy said he could?

If I'm not signed. Once signed in I have to have voted to see how the voting stands.

Yeah, you can see all the notes, it's just the votes, not til you vote. Not just me, then. Indy is a moderator , so must be able to have wider access.

Ps I've decided once this event is over (june didnt you say?!), I'll do a favourite foreign players event, non current and non GB.

I've worked out criteria but I'll keep back for now. But I'll do it on open era forwards as brittak has done. I'm going to aim at similar number of players to this, obviously harsher criteria required as there are so many players !

Was good fun and interesting to hear about some of the players from further back about whom I had zero knowledge. My votes certainly leaned much more towards more recent players who I knew about.

Looking at my picks I think I know who will be my final women's pick if she reaches the final. My men's is much more in doubt still.

Hope I haven't clogged the board with all those pictures. Just wanted to add a few more memories.

Certainly not. They are good to see and also to read some of your memories.

I see that we have agreed on the majority of the men's picks. Great minds ...

Also changed the Alex Ward pic and thrown one of JWH in too, given his high popularity in Qualies here.

Thanks to Brittak. Tracking down these photos has brought back some wonderful memories for me. Just Hilts and Greg to go, picture wise. I am sure I have snapped them both somewhere.
