I emailed the tournament director yesterday and gave him a piece of my mind!

Found the address in the contact us page on the Stella Artois TOurnament Website.

I don'texpect a reply but if enough of us complain they may change their ways for the future.

If anyone else wants to complain about the Queens wc selections or ask about the final two wildcards, the contact emails are:

Tournament director, Ian Wight: ian.wight@stellaartoischamps.com

Media director, Jolyon Armstrong: jolyon.armstrong@stellaartoischamps.com

Same here ! Can't wait for it to start !

Is Queens covered on TV in the States or have you manipulated your IP address so that the Beeb thinks you're in GB ?

Am really looking forward to following the Brits in action on a proper live scoreboard when the qualies start on Sat. Hopefully when the main draw starts on Monday, Queens will put several of the Brits on centre so we get to see them in action !
Hopefully in a couple of years, the Beeb will get a live webcam of court 1 at Queens, the lower ranked Brits always seem to get put on there. It can be irritating at times as I remember last year, Grosjean was thrashing someone on centre and the Beeb were showing that while the match I really wanted to see - Andy Murray v Santiago Ventura in rd1 was on court 1.

Re the two remaining Queens wcs: Boggo should definately get one and there's an unconfirmed rumour that he has been given one but it's a difficult choice between Bloomfield and Baker for the final one.

Who would you choose ? I wonder whether the Surbiton rd1 match will influence Queen's decision.

Bloomfield is the better grass player at this point in time, due to his massive and often unreturnable serve but Baker has had the highest ranking rise in the past year. Bloomers has had the greater success in challengers but he's been given ATP wcs before while Baker has yet to get one.

Lol, well spotted Rob, I've now corrected my post. I was thinking of typing "the tournament office's decision" before changing it and I forgot to take out the "the."

Seriously though, who would you choose for a Queens wc, Bloomers or Baker ?

Hmmm... Wisecracks I can do  - opinions are way more difficult.  They'll have a tough time ignoring both Bloomfield's higher ranking and yesterday's victory. That said, Jamie's got that spark that tends to get you invited along to the Davis cup squad, and gets you wild cards........

Was hoping that the wcs would be announced today but it seems that they're keeping us in suspense for another day.

Copied this post from the 'Draper' thread where he talks about wildcards and how they would be given out...........

If Wild cards were given out on the best ranking rises in the last 12 months then (excluding Boggo and Parmar).....

(From the Top 10 Brits)

Martin Lee - Rank 23 May 05 = 667, now 257 a rise of 410 places.

R Bloomfield - Rank 23 May 05 = 379, now 267 a rise of 112 places.

Jamie Baker - Rank 23 May 05 = 586, now 292 a rise of 294 places.

Matt Smith - Rank 23 May 05 = 529, now 347 a rise of 182 places.

Alan Makin is 96 places worse off this year than last.

This post was made by a guy on BTZ regarding Wimbledon wildcards:

"To be honest I think they should give one to Adam Lownsborough

I think that guy has had to put up with so much sh*t from you guys and the tennis public and has done well to keep his dignity intact from all the humiliation he has received for the last two years. Never let it be said that that guy didnt try!!

Adam my award for bravery in the midst of adversity goes to you.. I love you man.

The other wild card should go to Alex Bogdanovic, after all he is 136 ATP !! Man that guy can play some serious ...however I've heard he is pretty pants at snooker!!"

On Adam Lownsbrough:

A lot of the pros like him as he's a really nice guy who loves tennis and just tries really hard and they also admire his guts too as he keeps turning up even though he gets whipped each time.

Maybe he should get a job with his dad as a tennis agent or something!

USF,  here's a challenge for you: Get a photo of Adam for the "Who's Who in British Men's tennis" thread. I for one want to see what he looks like.
