Shapavalov in group C was the only player with 2 or more votes not to progress to the final.
4 players received 1 vote and 13 received none.
Great final group. Delpo got 21 votes across both rounds, stan 17,Lopez 16, thiem 15. Lots of votes for others as well, Gasquet, kyrgios, federer and monfils all beating 10 in total over both rounds.
3 french into the final, 2 Aussies, 2 swiss, 2 Argentinians...
I have an idea for our next one(s) but have no clue about how to set it up.
I was thinking about non-current ranked favourite GB players since the open era began in 1968 - a mens and womens separate vote. Any thoughts whether worth trying to set up. I could come up with the list of players if I could get some help in setting up the voting.

Hi Brittak - setting up the voting is quite easy, the hard work is the list! Lets say you have 100 players, the polls allow for 20 players in a poll. The people taking part ie voters seem to be around 20 per poll, so that would be too many, so around maybe 12 per poll "group" seems around right as Indy did here.
It is then about allocating players to groups, which can be done in all sorts of ways, in the case of your polls above, maybe random or keeping players apart from similar eras etc. The next question is the progression ie 100 players might be 8 groups of 12 or 13, maybe a semi round of 3 groups of 12 and a final of 12.
I am sure Indy or I can help you set them up, the main time after the set up is monitoring the finish and organising the next round.
I am still tight on time the next few weeks, whether indy has time to help, he can advise, but in a couple of weeks I would be happy to support/set up polls.

Great plan. Would be very pleased to take part.

The poll option is there with the initial post of a thread. So essentially start a new thread, tick for "attach poll" then title your poll and list your options, as Jon says up to 20. You can also set a closing time in days.
I can certainly try to answer any further questions here or by PM.
Thanks for the poll and look forward to the new historic one. Makes me instantly think of some great lesser British players through the eras - Karen Cross, Lucie Ahl, Anne Keothavong, Julie Salmon, and a few I would rather forget - National Front member Buster Mottram would be an obvious example - if he polled any votes, I would be shouting at the computer 'who is the neo-nazi'. Anyway should be another fun poll - hope it is kept into a separate men's and women's section.

Buster (Christopher) Mottram is someone I saw one year at Wimbledon, he was around the time of John Lloyd and latter part of Mark Cox and Roger Taylor careers and bored the socks off me. I saw him play Tim Mayotte in the last 16 (1982) but Mayotte won and that wasnt something I bemoaned ( I was actually a fan of gentleman Tim at the time so was quite pleaed). I had a work colleague at a previous employer who is his cousin and Buster was seen as a part of the family that they generally tried to disown!
I saw Mark Cox the very first time I went to Wimbledon in 1979 - only managed four games against Jimmy Connors. And saw Mayotte play two days after you, JonH.
Yes-many thanks Indy. Was the number of voters in the two finals the highest which we have had in this current series of excellent polls?
I was wondering about the two fairly clear-cut outright winners-neither of which I would have been anywhere near predicting a month or so ago. Both certainly present as pleasant personalities but I wonder whether voters also feel a degree of sympathy for them? Both Petra and Juan Martin have suffered from ill-fortune and thus not won as many big events as would have seemed likely a few years ago.

I saw Mayotte again in 1983 playing Kevin Curren, that was some match, in the qfs. In 85 curren beat edberg, connors and McEnroe before losing to boris in the final and of course reached an aussie open final, I think, on grass, a much underrated player.
1982 was a strange Wimbledon. Vilas and Clerc pulled out due to Falklands. Lendl and Teltscher withdrew as they didnt like grass. Borg, whod won 5 times and been ru in the 6 years before was told to play qualies due to an issue he had with the tour bodies , refused and was not allowed to enter. Crazy. And it rained like mad, I seem to remember mark edmondson (the gruff Aussie) beat vitas gerulaitus in a qf that finished Saturday morning and he had to play his singles semi the same day versus Connors, and of course lost. And the final was on the following day when Connors beat McEnroe in a great 5 setter. .
Youd have seen mayotte beat Brian teacher, another strong us grass courter, before mcenroe won their semi.
