Pleased to see Katy Dunne a player who has only played 1 singles match at Wimbledon and 2 main draw matches on the WTA tour in her whole career(not winning any of them ) proving a favourite WTA player. I know a lot of work went into this but it would have proved far more interesting if the draw had been the top 64 WTA womens singles players excluding anybody British(i.e. Jo Konta) and then we could genuinely have seen who the favourite non British player was. We could have seen how popular Coco Gauff was etc.
I am sure you are right and it is good to learn from these things. I was going to be defensive for a second but heh, no point, but perhaps someone would be willing to take up the cudgel and have a go at one of these events? I have a big work load (work, work) over the next 6 weeks or so and will therefore struggle to organise any thing different but would certainly take part if someone gives it a go!
Yes, I'm happy to set up favourite foreign ATP and WTA players. We can have all 3 of favourite overall, favorite British and favourite foreign. All the results are interrsting, so noone is in the wrong here and thank you to Jon for two of these.
I had been thinking of just single biggish finals for each but yes, I could certainly make them top 64 singles ranked as ROSAMUND suggests and have 3 rounds. For soke reason I seem to have a lot if spard tme. There is no real evidence from the past contests that we need to include doubles players to arrive at the favourites. Sorry doubles supporters, though feel free to argue that point.
That would be cool, indy, and happy to participate! Agree re singles only.
As an aside you can do 20 players in a single poll, so if you where up for it, could do top 100 or some other multiple...
Dang, Jon gets back before I had quietly edited at least some of my mistypes.
Yes, could go to 100 or more to minimise missing out lower ranked well liked players. I had some reluctance to include WCs but I guess I could do if there seem obvious ommisions that folk might come back about - "ah but, if they had been included ..."

Yeah, I'd thought of wildcards on the previous ones, but also thought thered always be someone you forgot. Maybe have some rule like any other former top 10 player outside main list can be a wildcard? Or top 5 or similar , still playing and ranked of course!
Great idea - look forward to it. But don't make the groups too large - there are around 20 people voting, so the votes could be spread a bit too thin if there are too many players.

I had forgotten to mention Heather is also back in the top 50. Judging by this poll and the "Wimbledon championships " I think Petra Kvitova is the most popular of the "non-British " players.
