Tsonga, Gasquet, Rajeev Ram missed out as did all our main doubles players, Jamie, Dom, Neal and Ken , Luke , Jonny etc. I took the view that although I wanted to include the doubles guys , I couldnt at the expense of ATP singles players and, to be frank, none of them apart from Joe and Jamie did anything in the British poll recently - so they didnt make the cut!!!
Depending on what time I finish some stuff, maybe a little later getting to the end of the WTA polls, will call them closed when I get there, not strictly on 9 (and will call them closed in order of Group 1, 2, 3 etc to 8). Could be closer to 10!
So bear with me!
Edit, wont be too far behind!

Semifinal groups will be seeded based on first round performance. Ie group winners and then most votes will get higher seedings.
I'm not going to try and keep Brits apart or judge favouritism, 4 go through to final from each semifinal so plenty of space for fans favourites to do well!
Where two or more players are in same position in group and score same votes percentage, seeding will go to highest ranked player, singles ahead of doubles. For ties in same group, highest ranked player will get higher seeding.
Just in case anyone gets huffy at their favourite being in what they perceive is a tougher group!

In the semis , I'm also ensuring players dont appear in same group twice, eg jo and katy dunne. I cant avoid it where there are 3 qualifiers through from two of the groups but by and large it's worked out - I'll post semi groups tomorrow. Remember, 4 from each plus ties will go through to final.

It's not just Serena who is not a "favourite " it is American female players in general. Stephens, Kenin, Riske, Brady, Keys, Collins and Anisimova hardly got any votes between them. That includes 3 players who have won a Grand Slam, 1 Grand Slam finalist and 2 Grand Slam semi finalists but they are not our favourites. It might have been different if Cori Gauff had qualified. But winners can still be favourites as Kvitova, Halep and Ostapenko have illustrated.

You're quite right, not an American got through. Cant have imagined that maybe 10, 20 years back. The non Brits through, 11 of them, are from 10 nations, just Czech republic have 2.

I'm not usually a fan of Americans but thought it was unfair to vote for Brits when we already had a competition for them so I only voted for Jo and the rest were foreign including Kenin and Stephens not that it helped.
We've gone past the era of a couple of players who might have been favourites but in particular I was thinking of Sam Stosur, Caroline Wozniacki and Sabine Lisicki. How would Maria Sharapova have faired?
Group A probably has more big names but two of the biggies are in Group B and then lots of Brits - so probably evenly split given 4 go through to the final from each group
