But Emily App is now in the MD of a 25k. And against a wildcard with a ranking not a zillion miles off her own. So, although she presumably won't be the favourite, it is about as favourable a draw one could hope for....

There is another stream for Emily tonight, and looks like she is on during a specific evening session, 6pm local, which is 9pm here.
She's a 3/1 underdog, but while I agree you can't really complain about getting someone in the 400s in a W25, it does look like the Brazilian was just a late WC, and would have comfortably got in via her ranking if she entered sooner, so not a traditional outsider WC in that sense.

However, her opponent doesn't seem to be on great form (lost in qualis in the last 25k and in R1 of the one before that where she was only in via an SE; even lost in R1 of a 15k this year, although made the final in another)
So I'm hoping Emily comes along a bit more ready for the races this time!
