Week 10 - ITF (W15) - Monastir, Tunisia - Hard

Graziella was 8th alt but obviously got in by virtue of her presence. Sadly her participation will inevitably be short lived again.

Freya and Amarni Banks should be in the MD.

QR1: Graziella BARRETT (GBR) UNR/2035 v Jantje TILBUERGER (GER) [q2] 1077=CH 18yrs

Ha, yep, I was thinking it's going to be a thread I'll open the once and probably never again after reading the first word, but Marni's presence is very interesing.

Looks like this is only Freya's 2nd W15 since March 2018 (she lost in R1 in the other), but I guess this is a level she should be focussing on now, as main draw wins at W25 level have been pretty hard to come by. She'll also probably not have too much choice going forward with a 600+ ranking, especially if more and more ITF are getting cancelled, and competition for places intensifies.

Another tough draw for Graziella. Her opponent has reached MD R16 seven times and QF twice - q1 is WTA 978.

Very unlucky for Freya. Drops down to a rare W15 event, and draws the top seed (and dubs partner as TA says), who has had reasonable recent success on the W25 scene, so it's effectively a typical W25 match for her where she's struggled.

Marni is actually the 4/11 betting favourite against her 500 odd seeded opponent, for what it's worth.

Looks like there is currently rain in Tunisia, but the men's match before Marni's has concluded, so Marni should be on once it cheers up.

Big fan of Marni but having her a 1.34 against Stadler at 3.00 seems a tad optimistic/generous.

The matches have all dissappeared from the live scores now, so it looks like they have abandoned play for today

Well, that was a pound well invested - unfortunately.

Marni loses the first set 3-6

And the second by the same. She did have a couple of BPs to go 4-2 up in the second, but not to be.

Really good effort by Freya there to take that first set, especially as she was *1-3 early on. She has broken back in the 2nd, but halfway to being broken again in the 3rd game.

Rain seems to have intervened here again with Freya up a set and on serve second set 6-4 *4-4
