So Katie got there in the end against a bit of an unknown quantity. Not sure Sofia Sewing had ever been heard of prior to this thread wink

Grim. She'll be heading out of the top 300 soon at this rate. Her 4th biggest points haul of 22 in that Mexican 25+H will be dropping in a couple of weeks. cry

Tara has managed where Katie failed - to beat Sophia. Very strange how Tara seems only to be able to play doubles at the moment. Not sure what's up at all.

QF:- Emina Bektas (USA) / Tara Moore (GBR) CR460 (230+230) [2] def Alexandra Mueller (USA) / Sophia Whittle (USA) CR883 (310+573) 7-5 6-3

And Tara did have that very good looking 7-6(4) 6-2 win against Plipuech WR 267 in Japan in February in amongst the not so good and retirements and withdrawals  confuse

Can only assume that she's got some ongoing physical issue that she can get by with in doubles but invariably not in singles.

Tara's next opponents will be one or other American pair, but they are just starting their match.

Tara needs 18+ points to improve her ranking. But, a  9 noint non-counter is a big improvement over 1.

She has 18 points so far for the SF

18 was already her lowest counter so no points gain yet for 23/03.

She does have 60 points ( from two 25K RUs ) due off post Miami, at 06/04 ( and a further 18 and 30 over the following couple of weeks ). So an additional 18 could certainly count soon. Though let's hope that they go on and at least reach the final this week for a 30 or 50.
