Barthel is the second highest ranked doubles player - not that you'd believe it. Seems to be putting the ball in all the wrong places.

Lost 6-1 6-3. 3/12 on break points, crucial ones were the 3 they let slip in the third game of the second.

Em really needs to pick up some wins next week and start getting points in the bag this year before her 25k titles start to drop off. Empty handed from all 4 bigger events she's played this year.

Her ranking is entirely from one WTA title. Not a natural doubles player from that performance anyway.

What great results to wake up to when you're on an early and have to drop out after the 1st set, did fear for both women, Harriet after going 2-0 down in the 2nd and Katie being down a break but hats off to both of them. Harriet has a winnable match, hopefully Katie can compete well and sneak another win.
