This event already has a quota of withdrawals for various reasons so plenty of lucky losers. Putintseva, Linette(who was 4th seed) and Flipkens have gone. I have counted 9 qualifiers needed. Funnily enough in this competition multiple grand slam winners Venus Williams and Kim Clijsters are not seeded, but then it is 2020 and not 2010.

Looks like Svitolina's fifth doubles tournament since Jan 2019 - with a 0-4 record
L16:- Sara Errani (ITA) / Daniela Seguel (CHI) CR740 (464+276) [WC] v Johanna Konta (GBR) / Elina Svitolina (UKR) CR1428 (290+1138) (Singles 14+7 !)
Well at least Jo helped Elina to break her duck. I picked up from instagram that Jo/Elina had played doubles at the 2017 Canadian Open where they lost in a champions tie break to Klepac/Martinez Sanchez. As an aside I think this was the tournament where Jo's 2017 singles started to go adrift. In her 1st match after Wimbledon she played Makarova who she had a 4-0 winning record against and after being a set and 5-2 up lost 2 match points and later on the match. The rest of 2017 apart from Cincinnati disintegrated after that.
Am just checking Jo's doubles results and have found she played with Elina at Brisbane 2018. Not very distinguished as they lost 2-6 2-6 to Bertens/Schuurs.

Umm heather lost the first set 7-6 and I honestly have no idea how that has happened.
Maria is also slicing every single ball so its pretty ugly tennis
