Liam's opponent has served TEN double faults, I believe, in the first set. Including two in the final game before the TB when he was serving for the set.

C'mon, Liam !

Great. First set taken care of, in a pretty spotty affair of a TB, but with a super last point.

The overall standard of play in the first set was poor, and Liam got away with his slow start (down 2 breaks) thanks largely to his opponent's serving woes. Liam was unhappy at Oliveira being allowed a MTO (for retaping i think) at 5-5 just after Liam had broken back - and the Portuguese player benefited from the break, with a strong game to break for 6-5. Neither player is happy with the line calling. Nothing for Liam to fear if he can play anywhere near his best (nowhere near so far)

And now he loses the second, in a continuation of a very spotty match, of pretty low quality.

The Portuguese player's serve is just horrid!

Decent climb of approx 20 places in the live rankings for Liam and a win in the SF would see him back inside the Top 200.

Cressy served 20 double faults to his Japanese QF opponent's seven, but 18 aces to his opponent's four!

he was almost out as well. Going to be a tough opponent. How is Cressy seeded 10 and WR 191 versus Liam at seed 7 but down at 230?

Edit, sorry I see he won Drummondville last week, but his highest ranked opponent was 239.

Liam can win this.

Now 26, according to bet365, to Liam's four, but 11 double faults to Liam's three.

3-3* in the final set...

Quite often just going for ace on 2nd serve hence 11 DFs too.

Apart from that is is chip and charge at every opportunity and trying to hit outright winners on return of serve. Tough style to play against but Liam has done it quite well.
