I only saw bits of the first set, and most of the second, but I thought the score was rather unfair on Holly (0-6 3-6) and she played some good tennis, good fight, bit of a problem with the serve but nice hitting and excellent movement.
Yes I just watched a few bits of this match too but totally agree with you CD. There were two very long games I watched end of the first set where Holly was hitting the ball very well, and she had multiple BPs and GPs but didn't get them. On her serve she hit too many DFs at crucial times, but her serve stats were better second set. I certainly thought she has good potential, and against other players other than the q1 seed might have qualified.
Very impressed by Amarni Banks too, who is currently 6-0 *2-0 up against Danielle Daley. Several of those games, like Holly's earlier have been very close, so not a good reflection on the match, which has been well contested, but rather Amarni's ability to close out points and games. There are a few facets of Amarni's game that are unusual for players her age that suggests she does have a lot of potential. One is her return of serve. She's hit some breathtaking winners off even first serves from Danielle, who is no slouch with the serve either. Second are her low whipped forehands and backhands which don't give the opponent much time on the ball, and third is her retrieving ability and comparatively low error count.
Well, at least Ms. Dissanayake managed a win in a match where we weren't guaranteed one by virtue of it being an all-Brit clash.
Cold comfort, but it's about par for the course of expectations these days.
Even then, we're 1-2 globally on the day in such women's singles matches today.
Could still add to that in Acapulco later with Ms. Watson.
Christie has no chance against Hogancamp
Emma plays the second seed should be a good match
Ali Collins plays Shaw who I have never heard of either have ITF no profile
Wonder why Eden isn't in the draw - she's signed in for doubles, and would have made it directly.
Yes, completely forgot about Eden. There must have been 6 fairly late withdrawals overall, 4 that we suspected before the Q draw, then 2 late ones to cater for the 2 LLs, so a shame that 3 of them were Brits, especially with it being a weak draw by GB W25 standards. Parrizas Diaz and Eikeri were two of them who would have been seeded, or in and around in Eikeri's case, and looks like Serban was the other.

The one you didn't mention was Vismane, who would have been the last MD DA. I have seven players missing from the last published acceptance list. Not sure why it is seven not six though.
I'd have quite liked to see the Ali-Eva match, but because there's 10 (singles) matches on Weds, I'll go on Weds instead. I'm quite tempted to leave it another day and go on Thurs when there should be all 8 L16 matches, but with Emma having a tough R1 match (and maybe ? over her fitness), Jodie a bit hit and miss atm, at least I'll be guaranteed to see a fair few Brits on Wed. Tauson is on the Wed schedule as well.

Vismane was between Muntean and Q1 Gutierrez, so I kind of assumed she would have been the Q1, but then withdrew because she was still playing in Tunisia on the Saturday, and not eligible for an SE, and didn't want to play quals on the Sunday, but she did retire late in that Tunisian match, so she could have been in, but then withdrew from the main draw because of the injury - I guess we'll never know for sure, ha.
But the players will be Fran, Eden, Katy, Eikeri, Parrizas-diaz, Serban, and then Vismane if we are counting her as the 7th.
