I'm not watching but counting on the momentum live scores graph Sam saved 4 SPs during the TB there to win the first set 7-6(7).
She always seemed to be playing catch up in the set and was 1-5 down early in the TB too. I did not expect her to win it!

Hence, I'm hoping that Amandine has a nice collapse now - she is rather prone to them ....

Well, that cunning plan didn't work..... :(

One set all for Sam

Hmm, do I root for Tauson here to set up a really intriguing semi final tomorrow, or Ozgen in what would likely be a more winnable match for Emma. Decisions?

I'll stream a bit of this next match in the background.

And yes, great stuff from Emma. It would have been a travesty if she ended up losing that first set when it went back on serve at 4-3.

You might have been a trifle early. Sam is now 5-1* in the final set

Tauson it is. She won 6-1 6-2, but due to one very long game, she was on court slightly longer than Emma today.

Back to Sunderland then.

Thrilled to have both Sam and Emma in the SF. Tauson and Emma will be a fascinating match tomorrow. Tauson seems a bit of a little miss so hope Emma wins not just coz she is the (Romanian/Chines) Brit - probably would be have been excluded under Patel's new criteria [sorry, can't help the dig].

Delighted too for Lissey and Olivia reaching the final, lovely to see Olivia back again and winning matches, and happy to see these two doing well as a pair..

Been a pretty decent week for the British women which makes a refreshing change.

Sam and Emma probably underdogs? Fingers crossed.

As would have been Priti Patel's parents - as she herself noted.  Does not mean her policy is no the right one for today.  it the is certainly one the people voted for.

Perhaps we could leave brexit out of this thread?

I hope both Emma and Sam win. British Women's tennis has had a pretty dispiriting few months and with Heather likely to win her tournament a British winner here would cap off one of the best weeks for a long while.
