Week 8 - ITF M25 - Sunderland, Great Britain (indoor hard)


If you mean is it the 1st challenger Jack has played then no I think he entered 2 last year with limited success, possibly in the US and only qualifying rounds but my memory is a little hazy about the details.

I was assuming Shhh meant was this a first Challenger 50 type tournament? I've not noticed one before.

Re Jack, he has played in 8 challengers in all. 3 in 2018 - Ilkley, Loughborough ans a US one. 5 in 2019 -  Nottingham, Glasgow, 2 US ones and last a Finnish one. 

He has won a few MD R1s and best was QF in one of the US Challengers.

Looks to be building up his levels this year and while I disagreed with some negative comments about him playing the British 25Ks, that now does look the way to go.

I wonder what the overall level will be in South Africa.

The challenger has a top entrant currently in the nid 230 range, 9th seed would be 270 ish...
