Week 8 - ITF M25 - Sunderland, Great Britain (indoor hard)

Another strong week for Jack. Tough match up in the final though.

But I would imagine Jack's motivation going into these last few weeks of GB futures was to get as much court time as possible. In that respect he will already have achieved that objective and will then take his match fitness on to the Challenger circuit.

But hey. Just beat Sijsling anyway. No reason why he can't.

Convincing win for jack, this week has been a strong week. Hes now at 10 wins over 3 weeks, tomorrow will make it 13 matches in that time.

I think hes entered in a south african challenger next , is that right?

I only caught the end when he was getting treatment, but he was a class above his opponent.

At last a Brit gets the better of bloody Sijsling - & in some style!    Eight aces to the Dutchman's one!  Jack's a again at last!  biggrin

Final:  (3) Jack Draper WR 321 defeated (4) Igor Sijsling (NED) WR 338 by 2 & 0   jump.gif

Just saw the last few games but Jack was ruthless. Fantastic!

47 mins biggrin.

I forgot about this match, but saw the thread was bumped, so was going to catch a bit of it on a stream, but too late. If you snooze, you lose smile

Well done Jack. I think those points should take him to a career high in the 280s once they go on, and with the next 3 counters to come off all being 1 point there must be scope for him to push towards top 250 before the grass court season. Anyone know where he'll be playing next?

As Emmsie says he is heading to south Africa

Thanks.  That's a useful resource which I wasn't aware of.

A fabulous way for Jack to finish off a solid 3 weeks. Not such a tough match up as I had anticipated.

I see this South African challenger is listed as a "50", a lower level 32 player main draw with 24 draw qualies.  Is this the 1st one played as I cannot remember seeing one to date?
