Vismane is just 19, with a former JCH 17. These are the types of matches that Gabi has not yet been winning again, and to do so tomorrow would be a good show of better intent for her. You can't be the top seed in W15s and consistently not even make the SF to have any chance of going upwards again.

 Couldn't agree more. She's dropped down to this level to win matches and really to win tournaments. Otherwise just picking up the odd point here and there for reaching the last 8 isn't going to do her any good at all.

Gabi has no less than seven one point counters, so plenty of room for improvement but as Harry says unless she starts making finals the points aren't going to make much difference to her ranking. Still 15 points shy of making it back to WR400.

No holds in the third set so far, Gabi leads 2 breaks to 1 *2-1

And still no holds... Gabi has lost 8/9 SPs this set and 7/8 1st serves too. Vismane is now sensing an opportunity and has won 8 pts in a row and holds finally to lead *2-3.

Unless there is a significant change in her performance level Gabi is heading for a loss here.

Back to 2-2. Gabi has made 8/9 first serves, but only won one point on serve. Maybe she has a problem, and is just rolling them in ?

Thankfully Gabi has returned the favour winning her own 8 pts on the trot. Now she is serving again but it is still just one hold apiece this set *4-3

Wow, for once a massive, close game... and Gabi eventually battles to a hold on her 4th GP after defending 3 BPs too... Now just one game from the match 5-3*

Vismane holds Gabi has to serve it out.

... and fails, losing her nerve. DFs at 30-30 and loses the next point too. 5-5
