Things gone a little south, or rather as expected, in the last 15 mins or so. K Pitak drops the first set 4-6, from 4-1*, Emily M now a break down, *3-5, and Amarni 2-4* in the second set. Hopefully one of those can come through and then I'd say that would be a pretty good day. Katy and Freya safely through to the FQR, and a great win for Danielle to guarantee a Brit in the main draw (even if Katy was a top 8 seed), and a very encouraging effort from Jasmine. I guess it would be decent enough regardless.
Edit - Amarni lost 6-3 3-6 5-10. Still a good effort, but the best chance of another upset gone.
Emily M 3-6 1-3*
K Pitak 4-6 2-3*

Penultimate rank of the professional game, with home advantage, which seems to serve other nations well enough, and it's carnage as expected.
It's OK though, because I now understand we've always been bad, and thus should never hope nor expect to do any better. Or, even, have those aims. Just know our place.
So, instead of monitoring any real progress, we can instead use our time and efforts to fill pages endlessly navel-gazing and speculating about qualification WC in home ITFs weeks before they occur (because we know that in all likelihood, our real interest in home events will probably be over by Tuesday/Wednesday of any given week)
Good Lord! I finally see & sympathise with what Ratty was getting at for all those years.
Looks like Holly retired at 1-2 in the second, so that's the day complete.
Katy and Freya through as you'd have expected, or at least hoped with the latter these days, and Danielle joining them in the only real upset of the day, and as mentioned earlier, that does guarantee a qualifier to join Sam and the 4 MDWCs in the main draw.
Good efforts from Jasmine and Amarni, who'll hopefully be ones for the future, but not really sure what more we could have realistically expected from the others. The system and landscape may not be great, but most of these players are what they are, and aren't suddenly going to magically go from routine defeats to holding their own, or flourishing in 25ks, no matter where the events are held.
A few extra W15s may help push some of them on and in the right direction, like maybe Grace and Holly, but that's another topic...
Edit - I keep calling Amarni Armani

I agree - it was a pretty decent day, overall, I thought.
It was good to see Katy and Freya winning easily (Freya in particular as she had - on paper - a harder ask - ie. someone who was far closer to her in ranking, as compared with Katy, and a higher CH)
Danielle was obviously the star result. Marni and Jasmine did very well, especially as they are both juniors.
In terms of the other, to be honest, I thought it was better than normal - i.e. Emily Morton and Kasia Pitak posted decent scores against good players. Grace and Chloe weren't trounced off the court. I know some will think this is the tennis board grabbing at straws, trying to see everything in a rosy way, but - as you say - you can't expect miracles and the scores, for me, were decent.

Marni it is then from now on
The only one I thought might have offered a bit more was Grace. I'm still not fully sure what sort of player is there, and where she can go. She won some sort of national title (albeit in a weak field if I remember correctly) last year, beat Sonay at Roehampton W25 R1, and then posted a fairly encouraging result against fromer top 50 player AL Friedsam (who got 80 points over the 2 Roehampton events) in the next round (4 and 2), so thought that might have differentiated her a bit from the usual pack, but today was disappointing even if Lily has posted some good results recently (the recent Katie B match aside), and she also lost 1 and 1 to Lissy the other week at a BT event, which again doesn't fill me with too much optimism.
Chloe also did a lot better than I was expecting, even if that's not really saying much, ha.
