Week 7 - ITF (W25) Glasgow, GBR Hard

Both Grace and Dani have started pretty well, 3-3 for Grace with two breaks a piece, and *3-4 for Dani, also two breaks each.

Grace lost 3-6 1-6
Freya serving for the match at 6-2 *5-2
Katy 6-2 6-0

Break-fest in the Daley match 3-6 4-3*, but 11 of the 16 games have been breaks, Danielle keeps getting a 2 game lead in the second set, but then pegged back.

Edit - the trend continues, 13 of 18 breaks now, so 5-4*, hopefully she can break for the set.

Well done Danielle. An unexpected win.

Well done Danielle. Anyone remember who she plays next, since the awful new ITF site is playing up again?

I remember Amelia Rajecki beat the opponent a few months ago in Roehampton. There are a few common names missing here - her, Emily App, Alice, Tanysha, Tiff, obviously Eliz is in overseas W15s and doing well, and most of the college girls will be in the US. Some of those mentioned will likely be injured, but it is a bit of a shame to see the gaps, especially when most of those missing names are more likely to pick up the odd win than the likes of Kimberley, who as harsh as it sounds, really is just making up the numbers. Even the younger contingent like Sonay and Amelia B.

We don't get too many ITF events in the UK, outside of the grass season (where the fields are so tough and you can get the likes of Caty McNally in quals), something like 8, which is more than 2018, where I think it was 6, but they are still few and far between.

Young Amarni has just taken the first set against Brouleau, so is also guaranteed an MTB at worst. Good luck.

Looks like Zimmermann will win against Conway.

The elder Pitak has started well.
