Our women are looking to have quite a few more MD chances in Sunderland compared to Glasgow ( Sam the only direct acceptance in Glasgow ).

Sam, Jodie and Fran are on the MD list with Katy D, Emma and Eden currently respectively 1st, 3rd and 6th on the qualifying list.

Only 3 of our current top 25 ranked women are missing from the above entries - ie Dart, Lumsden and Broady. Quite a turnout if they all stay in.

Naomi is rehabbing. Maia injured? Harriet maybe looking to WTA qualifying?

Harriet put a link to a Children in need evening which she is listed as appearing at and I think that is on the 25th so not sure what her plans are.

For the women, Mandy is now easily into the MD in Germany. For Sunderland MD there are no changes yet, with Katy D and Emma being 1st and 3rd on the q list, so expect them both to make the MD without needing WCs. Ali Collins is now in the q draw and Tanysha is 3rd alt, so also likely to get in without needing any qWC.

Gabi is still in the Macon W25 entries, but well down the q list.

... and the ITF calendar has started to play up on me again and tell me there are no tournaments in Feb.. so I can't check any of the other entry lists for the moment.

The ITF calendar is back online. For the US W25 Katie Swan is now in the MD, Tara and EWS in qualifying.

And no other changes yet for the ITF tournaments as far as I can see.

Jo has withdrawn from Qatar. I wonder when she will get to play again? It just seems to be a series of withdrawls since the US Open.

Yes indeed. It suggests an adverse reaction too to her four matches last week, even if 3 were only doubles matches... And if she can't manage that without suffering a flare up of her knees again... then she does have a significant problem.

Yes it was reported in the Gulf Times it was a knee injury as with Bianca Andreescu. I do not want to be negative in saying this but one begins to wonder if Jo will finish up retiring soon because of this. It is a problem that started over a year ago and  has got worse without seemingly being operable. She wouldn't be the first player who had to pack up because of knee troubles.

I see Heather has made the Acapulco main draw. There have been a few recent withdrawals including 3 would be seeds, so it's not the strongest field in the world (the 8th seed will be in the 80s). I guess no news is good news as far as Katie B is concerned.

Well we are not  doing very well with our Fed Cup team from last year.
