Impressive again from Eliz, and her two points so far will move her inside the top 1100 when they go on in 10 days time. The fact she's beaten two players now ranked 566 and 626 suggests she has plenty of upward potential at this point in time which is good to see. And Eliz will get a further test of her upward credentials since she will take on the 2nd seed next in the QF, Ilona Ghioroaie (ROU) WR 482.
In the meantime Gabi is on court now too and *5-1 up first set.

I guess her current ranking of mid 400s means she's not necessarily too out of place in these 15k events at the moment (unfortunately), and it's important she keeps on winning to build points and confidence to hopefully move on pretty soon, but at the same time, (to me) it does pretty strange seeing her in them, and quite hard to get encouraged / excited when she does win a set comfortably if that makes sense? That said, it looks like she's currently in her most competitive set of the week, albeit only her 4th.
I was looking at the rankings earlier and Gabi's biggest scorer (30 points) drops out in March so she really does need to pick up some wins in the next month or her ranking will really plummet. With that in mind I guess it's safer to play 15Ks and hope to go deep rather than risk playing a higher level tournament and potentially drawing a top seed in round 1.
